Lazy Saturday
Last night we had our youngest son’s opening flag football game night, which also happened to be a double header, so we were at the field late. I love fall sports season. Even if it still feels like the ninth circle of H. E. double hockey sticks here in permasunny Arizona.
As such, it’s been a relatively lazy Saturday.
Even the dogs are getting naps in. Isn’t Cleo cute?
I happen to be on call for work today, which basically equates to me being on the equivalent of house arrest. Despite being secluded to my home, I’ve gotten quite a bit done. I prepped six loaves of bread (roasted garlic and herb sourdough; my house is going to smell AMAZING tomorrow when I bake), tinkered with a new Facebook profile, tackled the never-ending pile of laundry that has taken up residence in my laundry room, and started work on a short story that will be exclusive to you! (AKA, my lovely newsletter subscribers). More to come on the short story. I think you’ll enjoy it.
Mmmmm 🤤
All things considered, I think that’s a relative win for a Saturday. (🤞 I don’t get called in to work). Homemade pizza is on the menu for tonight. I’m thinking a pesto chicken, traditional pepperoni, and one steak gorgonzola. Thoughts?
Listen, I know it’s an author newsletter, but this author also happens to be a full time foodie. So bear with me. I promise to also provide plenty of bookish updates. 😉
Which recipe would you like me to include in the next newsletter? |
