Preorder Is Live!
I have several reasons to be excited today. One being that it’s my birthday! 🥳 Thirty-six feels good. Old, but good! Mike and I are going to check out a local speakeasy called Barley & Smoke that’s attached to our favorite neighborhood brewery, and I can’t wait! It’s got a hidden entrance, a GORGEOUS open kitchen concept, and an elevated casual atmosphere. The vibes will be vibing!

My second reason to be excited is that Cloaking Fate has a preorder! 🥳🥳 Honestly, I might be more excited about this than I am about my birthday. My official release date is May 29th! While I’m a little bummed that Amazon doesn’t allow preorders for physical copies, if you were planning on grabbing the ebook, you can do so here!
This title will be enrolled in Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited program, so if you’re subscribed to that service, you’ll be able to download and read for free! Woohoo! Also, just in case you’re a trophy collector like me and just must have a physical copy, you can do so on May 29th! Mark your calendars! 🗓️
Did I mention they’re gorgeous? Don’t believe me? Look. 🥹

Okay, third reason that I’m excited. Or maybe, intrigued is the right word? I have been recently inundated with sponsorship requests for my newsletter. That’s cool, right? Now, let me preface this by saying that I loathe (yes, italics and bold) advertisements on blogs. I get why they exist but I still hate them. There is nothing worse than trying to read through content and getting bombarded with freaking laundry soap commercials or insurance ads. Just let me read my content! Recipe blogs are the WORST with this. That said, rest assured that I’m determined NOT to allow that here. I have declined several of the sponsorship opportunities because they simply did not appeal to my audience or had zero relatability to the environment I’m trying to cultivate. Your time is to be respected, and I want you to look forward to these emails, not scramble to find the unsubscribe button.
Now, one sponsor that approached me with a request did pique my interest. Mainly because I’m bound to have some fellow writers reading my content, or even aspiring authors. The company is called LuLu. (And no, it’s not the clothing brand 🍋). LuLu is a print on demand publishing company that I used to print exclusive copies of my novelette, High Tide. They did a phenomenal job!

Look at those cute little High Tide hardcovers.
I recommend them and will likely use them again for future projects. Their add is below. If you feel so inclined to click the link, I get a kickback of a couple bucks. At least, I think that’s how it works. I just work here, okay? And if you happen to be working on a writing project and want to check them out, feel free to explore their site a little!
Publish and Sell Books Your Way
Lulu makes it easy for creators like you to publish their work. With affordable, high-quality print-on-demand books, you can grow your brand, reach a global audience, and keep 100% of your profit.
Lastly! Since we are officially counting down to release day, I wanted to give you a teaser of a scene from the book! 🫣 This excerpt will be featured on the dust jacket interior and is a major turning point in the plot! Don’t worry, it won’t give anything away! I hope you enjoy.
Felíne dropped. Her feet no longer felt attached to her body. She was spent, and she couldn’t breathe.
The stranger supported her full weight without the slightest strain, lifting her into the cradle of his arms. Darkness crept in on the corners of her vision. Her focus clouded.
“Puh…pl…” Her lips moved, but the air had gone. She was like a fish on the shore, mouth gaping, trying. She was trying so hard.
Two deep obsidian pools stared down at her. Or was that the darkness that finally claimed her?
“Please?” His rich, silky baritone caressed her ears. “Only because you asked so nicely.”
I’ll be back next month with another teaser and some more exciting news! Until then, have a fabulous week! ♥️
